ViDA Implementation at Volvo Group sites in Belgium

Dear Supply Partners,

We would like to inform you about the upcoming ViDA (VAT in the Digital Age) implementation in Belgium and the associated mandatory e-invoicing requirements, which will significantly impact your invoicing processes.

Key highlights:

Mandatory E-Invoicing from January 1, 2026

As part of Belgium’s alignment with the EU’s ViDA directive, structured electronic invoicing will become mandatory for all B2B transactions. This applies to:

  • Belgian VAT-registered businesses
  • Foreign companies with a fixed establishment in Belgium

PEPPOL Format and Network

The PEPPOL has been confirmed as the default standard for structured e-invoices in Belgium

All affected businesses must:

  • Be technically capable of issuing and receiving PEPPOL e-invoices via the PEPPOL network.
  • Ensure compliance with the European standard EN 16931.

What You Need to Do:
  • Review your invoicing systems to ensure PEPPOL compatibility.
  • Connect to the PEPPOL network or verify that your current provider supports it.

We recommend initiating these changes as early as possible to avoid disruptions and ensure full compliance.

Please feel free to reach out through AccountsPayableE-Invoicing@volvo.com if you need assistance or further clarification.

Best regards,
Volvo Group Purchasing
